Borough Sponsored Activities

Community Day TentsThe Borough has a dedicated committee of volunteers who work together to plan special community events and activities.  The goal of the Activity Committee is to plan and support various community events to promote a sense of vitality in the community.   Accordingly, Community Day was started in 2009 to promote the businesses and non-profit organizations in Schwenksville with a fun community event.

Community Day is by far the largest event hosted by the Borough.  It often attracts upwards of 300 visitors and up to 45 vendors.  It's typically a day filled with music, arts and crafts, unique goods and services and lots of entertainment.     Typically this event is the first Saturday in May, however the committee is considering other days when they schedule the next celebration in 2022.

The Activities Committee also sponsors a summer concert series called "Music in the Meadow" that brings in local bands once a month in June, July and August to perform in Meadow Park.   The bands vary from year to year, but the Borough tries very hard to get local favorite Dog Bite Money back for the August concert each year.

A BandThe Halloween Parade is also sponsored by Schwenksville Borough in partnership with the Perkiomen Valley Rotary Club.     This event is a favorite among residents and brings out families with a creative spirit all trying to win a coveted costume prize.

The Activities Committee needs more volunteers and more creative ideas for special events that residents will enjoy.  If you have any ideas for events and/or would like to help plan events, please telephone Borough Hall at 610-287-7442 or email staff.
