Woman’s civic Club of Schwenksville,  Elaine Gentner, Jean Whitko, President  Robin Hightower receive award for Operation Smile.

Woman’s Club Celebrates 100 Years
womens-club-cropped-300x222The Woman’s Civic Club of Schwenksville will celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2016. Eliza Pennypacker, daughter of former governor Samuel Pennypacker started the club in 1916 and was the first president. The club is part of the international General Federation of Women’s Clubs and is dedicated to community improvements by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. The club organizes the annual Holiday House Tour which is scheduled for Saturday December 12, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. For Tickets call Anne at 610-287-7267. The club also started and maintained the garden at the Schwenksville Trail Head near the intersection of Routes 73 and 29. Happy Anniversary Ladies!! The anniversary year celebration will conclude with a celebratory luncheon at the Bay Pony Inn in May 2016.
