Women’s Civic Club Members Receive Awards
Woman’s Civic Club of Schwenksville, Elaine Gentner, Jean Whitko, President Robin Hightower receive award for Operation Smile.
The Woman’s Civic Club of Schwenksville was started by Eliza Pennypacker, daughter of former governor Samuel Pennypacker started the club in 1916 and was the first president. The club is part of the international General Federation of Women’s Clubs and is dedicated to community improvements by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. The club also started the garden at the Schwenksville Trail Head near the intersection of Routes 73 and 29.
