Defining the Schwenksville Community

The Borough boundaries stretch from just north of the Route 73 Bridge to just north of Woodland Avenue on the west side of Main Street/Route 29 and just north of Park Avenue on the east side of Main Street.  Limerick Road, Smith Road and Mine Hill Road are border roads to the west and the Perkiomen Creek marks the border to the east.  In all, Schwenksville Borough is less than one square mile in size and is home to approximately 1,385 people.  At the H.E.A.R.T. of the Schwenksville Community is Schwenksville Borough’s Main Street.   The acronym stands for Historic, Engaging, Authentic, Recreational and Timeless and refers specifically to a section of Main Street in the center of the Borough, between Perkiomen Avenue and Centennial Street, where many of the Borough’s historic properties, government offices, museums and recreational facilities are located.

Kiosk-with-Bench-A-201x300Located in Schwenksville Borough is the Schwenksville Post Office, The Perkiomen Valley Library, Perkiomen Trail Heads, Meadow Park and public boat ramp, the Main Street Plaza, Schwenksville Elementary School, Heidelberg UCC Church, Jerusalem Lutheran Church, New Eden Fellowship and several civic clubs as well as multiple small businesses.  The Schwenksville Borough Community Room is open and available to rent for events.   Beyond the Borough limits, the Schwenksville Community is rich with recreational opportunities that includes destinations such as Spring Mountain Resort,  Pennypacker Mills, the Central Perkiomen Ball Fields, the Perkiomen Trail, Central Perkiomen Park, the Perkiomen Watershed Association and Philadelphia Folk Fest.
