MINUTES OF July 27, 2006

 

 

           

            Council President, H. Gilbert Williams at 7:30pm, called the Schwenksville Borough Council Meeting of July 27, 2006 to order.

 

Present: H. Gilbert Williams, Gene Frantz, & Ray Yeanish

 

 Absent: Donald Whitko, Barbara Slater & Mayor Carroll Rosenberger,

           

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:  By the assembly.

 

MINUTES:  Dispense with the reading of the Minutes of June 8, 2006. MOTIONED BY RAY YEANISH AND SECONDED BY GENE FRANTZ.  IT WAS VOTED TO DISPENSE WITH THE READING OF THE MINUTES OF June 8, 2006. ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

 

Approval of the Minutes of June 8, 2006

MOTIONED BY GENE FRANTZ AND SECONDED BY RAY YEANISH. IT WAS VOTED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF June8, 2006.  ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

 

SPECIAL GUEST: Jeff Clemens

     A discussion was held.  Issues will be addressed.

     Mr. Clemens will put up No Trespassing signs on the property.  Mr. Moore and Jeff                       will work on keeping trespassers off the property.  Jeff will send letter to Chief Hoppes.

 

 

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE: Gail Phillips

 

Statement of Revenues/Expenditures to Budget Comparison for January 1 to July 13, 2006 was presented to council for their approval Monthly Council Cash Available Report as of July 14, 2006. Copies of all these reports are on file at the Borough hall Office.

 

MOTIONED BY GENE FRANTZ AND SECONDED BY RAY YEANISH.  IT WAS VOTED TO ACCEPT THE ACCOUNTS PAYABLE REPORT AS PRESENTED.  ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION CARRIED.

SOLICITOR’S REPORT: Crystal Fisher -             Resolution 2006-10

       Tax Collector- Tracy hospitalized, borough needs to appoint a Deputy Tax Collector.

 

A MOTION WAS MADE BY GENE FRANTZ AND SECONDED BY RAY YEANISH TO APPOINT JEANETTE YEANISH AS DEPUTY TAX COLLECTOR. ALL WERE IN FAVOR. MOTION CARRIED.

BOROUGH MANAGER REPORT: Tom Snyder

 

Forest Lane - gathering quotes for the work Water in the Stanley property basement. Cost- less than $10,000. Will readdress at the August 10, 2006 meeting.

 

Boyer Lane – engineering for work. Conditional approvals not to spend any money, $8,000 match for the project.

 

A MOTION WAS MADE BY GENE FRANTZ AND SECONDED BY RAY YEANISH TO HAVE A QUOTE BY THE ENGINEER AND NO MONEY WILL BE SPENT. WILL BE DISCUSSED AT THE AUGUST MEETING.  ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION CARRIED.

 

We have a D.E.C. grant of $10,000 to take care of the 4th St. and Perkiomen flooding.  PENN DOT supplying the material for first phase of job. Second phase will be digging it in. third phase will be for curbing to finish loop.  Written estimate from engineer. 

 

Street light repairs are done at Perkiomen Ave. and Second Street.
