Council President, H. Gilbert Williams at 7:30pm, called the Schwenksville Borough Council Meeting of August 10, 2006 to order.
Present: H. Gilbert Williams, Donald Whitko, Barbara Slater, Carroll Rosenberger
Absent: Gene Frantz and Ray Yeanish
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: By the assembly.
MINUTES: Dispense with the reading of the Minutes of July 27, 2006. MOTIONED BY DONALD WHITKO AND SECONDED BY BARBARA SLATER. IT WAS VOTED TO DISPENSE WITH THE READING OF THE MINUTES OF July 27, 2006. ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION CARRIED.

Statement of Revenues/Expenditures to Budget Comparison for January 1 to August 11, 2006 was presented to council for their approval Monthly Council Cash Available Report as of August 11, 2006. Copies of all these reports are on file at the Borough hall Office.

Gene Frantz –absent
Jim gave a list to Council on homeowners and Landlords that picked up free smoke detectors.
AMBULANCE REPORT – No Report
BOROUGH MANAGER REPORT: Tom Snyder – Absent – no report
COMMITTEE REPORTS
STREETS AND ROADS: Barbara Slater –no report
FINANCE: Ray Yeanish – Absent- no report
PROPERTY: Donald Whitko – no report
STREET LIGHTING: Gene Frantz –no report
MAYOR’S REPORT: 2 weddings in June, 1 wedding in July, would like to report overgrown weeds at the Clemens property.
OLD BUSINESS – Senate Bill No. 916- Motion by Donald Whitko and seconded by Barbara Slater to Endorse Senate Bill No. 916. All were in favor. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS – none
AUDIENCE:
Roy Miller of 320 Centennial St.
1. Why haven’t we raised taxes?
This will be looked at on Tuesday August 15, 2006 at the Finance meeting.
2. Clemens property – Forest Ave. Borough should not be responsible to fix the road. Home Owners Association should fix the road and then turn it over to the Borough. This road is not an ordained road.

3. County came out with a brochure about conserving water, and then they want to take the dams out?
Larry Keown of 139 Main St. – Traffic Study would cost the Borough $2,500.00 along with the surrounding townships for Rt. 29.
