BOROUGH OF MINUTES OF JULY 15, 2004
The Schwenksville Borough Council Meeting of July 8, 2004 was called to order by
Council President, H. Gilbert Williams at 7:30 p.m.
Present were: H. Gilbert Williams, Barbara Slater, Raymond Yeanish, and
Carroll Rosenberger. Absent were:
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: By the assembly.
MINUTES: Dispense with the reading of the Minutes of June 10, 2004:
MOTIONED BY RAYMOND YEANISH AND SECONDED BY BARBARA SLATER IT WAS VOTED TO
DISPENSE WITH THE READING OF THE MINUTES OF JUNE 10, 2004. ALL WERE IN
FAVOR AND THE MOTION CARRIED.
Approval of the Minutes of June
10, 2004: MOTIONED BY BARBARA SLATER AND SECONDED BY RAYMOND YEANISH IT
WAS VOTED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF JUNE 10, 2004. ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND
THE MOTION CARRIED.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE/TREASURER’S REPORT: Nancy
Eppley Presented to council for their approval: Statement
of Revenues/Expenditures to Budget Comparison to June 15th and
the Monthly Council Cash Available Report as of June 15,
2004. MOTIONED BY RAYMOND YEANISH AND SECONDED BY BARBARA
SLATER IT WAS VOTED TO ACCEPT THE REPORT AS PRESENTED. ALL WERE IN FAVOR
AND THE MOTION CARRIED.
ENGINEER’S REPORT: Ken Yerger, present No report for this
evening.
SOLICITOR’S REPORT: Loren Szczency -Property Maintenance Code: Tabled to the next
meeting. -Planning Commission Recommendation: Amending the
Revitalization Plan. Will be coming to council. Loren recommends
that the committee get together again, give their recommendations/suggestions,
then go to Planning Commission and eventually
Council. MOTIONED BY RAYMOND YEANISH AND SECONDED BY BARBARA
SLATER IT WAS VOTED TO RECONVENE OUR REVITILIZATION COMMITTEE TO LOOK AT THE
PARKING SITUATION AS AMENDED TO THE PLAN. ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION

POLICE REPORT: Chief Timothy Hoppes Monthly Report for June is filed at Borough Hall.
Calls handled by State Police:
18 Chief Hoppes:
24 Signs put up and taken down 150
signs. At the present time there is a stray Iguana in the
Borough.
FIRE COMPANY: Nancy Eppley for Jim Keyser Month of June: 7 calls 64 men in
service
AMBULANCE REPORT: Nancy Eppley for the Month of June 11 calls for the Municipality, 2 Calls for
the Colonnade
BOROUGH MANAGER: Tom Snyder -Temporary Patching:
Complete - -151 Second Street Steps: Again, trying to get
quotes. -Tree that is owed: Tree found, but weather
conditions are too hot now. -Fence and Driveway on Mine Hill: Getting quotes
on installing. -Woodland Avenue: Is patched, but
pealing. -Main Street Markings: Will be done any day
now. -Flooding: Tom mentioned that he saw a very
serious problem on the news from This is in the right of way. Ray suggested that
the Borough look closely at the cost. -Street Lighting: Almost
finished. -Old Post Office: We have a small committee,
trying to enlarge. Borough has a joint effort with Ambler
Savings. One quote is already in. Suggest fixing bottom and
move it. Page 3 Borough Council Meeting: July 15,
2004 - Low level bridge: Being put together and will be
delivered soon. High level bridge: Not under
construction. Gib would like to see the plans when
received.

POST VACATED BY JOSEPHINE GILL. ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION
CARRIED. MOTIONED BY RAYMOND YEANISH AND SECONDED BY BARBARA
SLATER IT WAS VOTED TO APPOINT LARRY KEOWN TO SERVE ON THE REGIONAL PLANNING
COMMISSION. ALL WERE IN FAVOR AND THE MOTION
