Open Burning Permit Application

 SCHWENKSVILLE BURN PERMIT APPLICATION

NO BURNING SHALL CREATE EXCESSIVE SMOKE OR NOXIOUS FUMES TO ADVERSELY AFFECT NEIGHBORING PROPERTIES.  IF ABOVE CONDITIONS ARE CREATED, BURNING SHALL CEASE IMMEDIATELY UPON DIRECTION BY THE FIRE MARSHAL

All burning must be conducted between sunrise, and sunset

 It is the responsibility of the Applicant to check for any Burn Ban Notices issued prior to the start of any fire related activities

1.  Prior to any burning, the Applicant shall notify the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety (DPS) at 610-287-6911, stating their name, address, phone number, and intent to burn in accordance with a Schwenksville Borough Burn Permit. Upon completion of burning, Applicant must notify the DPS 2)
2. The following may be burned; leaves, twigs, shrub trimmings, and other similar yard waste. All materials must be dry, and less than 3” in diameter, producing little to no smoke or embers
3. Open burning must be done in an area less than 5’ x 5’ that is not less than 50’ from any structure, and not less than 25’ from other obstacles (trees, power lines, etc)
4. A garden hose, attached to an appropriate water source, must be available.
5. Burning may not be conducted during areas of inclement weather (i.e., winds, drought, Red Flag Warnings)
6. Recreational burning is permitted within the constraints set forth in Chapter 59 of the Schwenksville Borough Codified Code.
7. All fires must be constantly supervised by an adult.
8. The burning of trash, scrap wood, pallets, etc is PROHIBITED
9. At any time, the Fire Marshal, or designee may revoke any previously approved burn permit.

Failure to adhere to the regulations regarding Open Burning, may result in fines not to exceed $1000, and imprisonment   By submitting this form  I certify that I understand the above, Ordinance Chapter 59 B burning, Open, and will comply with all regulations, and requests of the Fire Marshal or designee.
